Biographies











Anthony J. Ganga brings his 26 years of hands-on experience to Hampton Custom Homes Corp.  He started his career working as a steel worker in New York City in 1974 for the Dic-Underhill Corporation.  He joined the carpenters and joiners union and went on to many renovations and custom wood working projects.  Two different co-operative apartment projects in New York City were his next challenge.  Mr. Ganga was involved in the restoration and renovation of a Bulova Clock Factory.  He started as Punch List Supervisor on lone to PLK Construction, a subsidiary of Helmsley Spear Corporation and finished the project as the Project Supervisor.  The project was subsidized by Brooklyn Union Gas under the Cinderella Project Grant and later won the Princess Award for best Project.  After moving his family to East Hampton in 1984, Mr. Ganga started his own home improvements business.  Over the next 5 years he took on a variety of remodeling and renovation projects, some of which included the Coast Guard Station on Star Island, Wavecrest I Motel on Old Montauk Highway, Gossman’s Restaurant, Rushmeyers Restaurant and Surfside Inn located in Montauk to name but a few.  In 1989 he accepted the position of Construction Manager with a well-respected construction firm located in Bridgehampton After working as a construction Manager with this Mr. Ganga excepted a position with another firm, a very well-established and respected custom homebuilder in East Hampton.  In addition to all of his hands-on field responsibilities, Mr. Ganga was also an integral part of aiding this firm’s expansion into having its business fully computerized.  During his 6 year tenure, Mr. Ganga was in charge of new custom homes and distinctive renovations from Southampton to Montauk.  In that time period he was in charge of completing 30 new homes that sold from $370,000 to well over a million dollars.  Anthony J. Ganga is an active member, of the East Hampton Community he lives in.  He currently is a member of the East Hampton Fire Department, Mr. Ganga is also a member of the Heavy rescue Squad and the Confined Space Rescue Team.  He served as Captain of the Fire Department from 1994-1997, and Assistant Chief from 1997-2000.  He is also active as the Quartermaster for his son’s Boy Scout Troop.  He presently has taken on the position as Commander the Sons of the American Legion Post 419.  He has volunteered his time in the construction of the American Legion Post 419 in Amagansett and the East Hampton High School Baseball Field Dugouts.   Mr. Ganga attended  N.Y. Labor Technical College in NYC.  His course curricula included several semesters of construction estimating, construction management and business management. Mr. Ganga has been responsible for the construction of over 300 homes and commercial projects. 
 

James C. Gherardi brings his 19 years of experience, in the construction of new condominiums and cooperatives in Brooklyn and Queens, to focus in Hampton Custom Homes Corp.  A member of his family run Construction and Real Estate business that saw him supervising projects for 6 years in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, first as the Assistant Supervisor of Watersview at Verrazano, a 226 unit cooperative and then as the head Supervisor of Hamilton House, a 106-unit luxury cooperative.
Mr. Gherardi spent the next 8 years as Project manager for Seaview Estate, a 223 unit condominium complex in Canarsie, Brooklyn costing an estimated $27 million to construct and then as a project manager for Shore Towers, a 415 unit, 23 story condominium complex in Astoria, Queens with a $57 million dollar construction budget.   These two projects won several awards for construction and design from the Queens County Builders and Contractors Association, the Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York and the Queens Chamber of Commerce.  After leaving the family’s business, Mr. Gherardi worked for Albanese Development Corp. as Project Manager at the 316 unit, ultra luxury, Wyndham Condominium in Garden City, Long Island.  Over the years James C. Gherardi has been presented with awards of appreciation and merit for his contributions to the building industry by the National Association of Home Builders and the Queens County Builders & Contractors Association.  He has also been active and current member for the past 15 years on the Board of Directors of the QCBCA; and in 1992 served as the Association’s President.  He has served for 7 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the New York State Builders Association in Albany, NY.  He has also volunteered with the American Cancer Society (Queens Division) on its Board of Directors as well as served as the Gala Journal Chairman.  He presently holds the position of Committee Chairman for his son’s Boy Scout Troop.  Mr. Gherardi is a 1979 Graduate from New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelors Degree in Architecture.  He also holds a NY Real Estate Salesperson License.
